Lorrine Capps Johnson

Benson, NC: Mrs. Lorrine Capps Johnson, age 81 of N. Dunn Street, passed away on Friday, April 22, 2022 at the SECU Hospice House in Smithfield, NC surrounded by her loving family.  Graveside Funeral Services will be held 2:00PM-Monday, April 25, 2022 at the Roselawn Community Mausoleum in Benson, NC.  Rev. Darren Brisco will officiate. 

Mrs. Johnson was born on January 17, 1941 in Johnston County NC to the late Beaty and Martha Capps Massengill. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Bobby Capps, William Earl McGee and sisters, Minnie McLamb and Patsy Beasley.  Mrs. Johnson was a homemaker after working at Carolina Packers in Smithfield and McLamb’s Abattoir in Benson for many years. She was a member of Unity Advent Christian Church outside Four Oaks, where she served as a Sunday School Teacher for many years.

Surviving include her husband of 53 years, James Cephas “J.C.” Johnson; special niece and caretaker, Doris McKinley and husband, Ricky, sisters, Kathleen Styles of Garner and Gloria Stanley of Holly Ridge; brother, Charles Massengill of Four Oaks; many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 12:15PM-1:30PM on Monday, April 25, 2022 at Rose and Graham Funeral Home in Benson, NC and other times at the home of Doris and Ricky McKinley 100 Sycamore Ct, Benson, NC 27504.
