Lottie Lynn Barbour celebrated her EASTER Resurrection on July 28, 2017, singing with the angels and dancing with the Saints. Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 31, 2017 at 11:00AM at the First Baptist Church, Four Oaks, NC. A gathering time for family and friends will be from 6:00PM - 8:00PM on Sunday, July 30, 2017 at Rose and Graham Funeral Home in Four Oaks.Born, Lottie Lynn Godwin, on October 16, 1920 to Tom and Nancy Godwin of Dunn, NC she was known among her peers as a brilliant student, a natural beauty, a star basketball player and a "cut a rug" dancer. She celebrated 80 years of marriage to Hugh Arthur Barbour, with four children, thirteen grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.Lottie Lynn was a devoted wife and mother and a high achiever, receiving top awards  recognizing her excellence in leadership for each of the eleven years that she served as Director of the Women's Missionary Union. She was the owner and creative artist of Lynn's Beauty Salon in downtown Four Oaks for 50 years. She was an accomplished seamstress, quilter, collector of fine artistic pieces, fashionista, gardener, party giver, cook, a dedicated alto, an educator and supporter of the arts. She served on the Executive Team of the Johnston County Choral Society, Chair of the FBC Music Committee and a member of the First Baptist Church Choir for 78 years. Respected and loved by family, friends, and her small town community, she was a beautiful example of the true southern "steel magnolia"She is preceded in death by her late husband: Hugh Arthur Barbour; sons: Larry Barbour, Gene Barbour and Johnny Barbour; grandchildren: Abigail Barbour and Kevin Thomas Greene, Jr.; six brothers and sisters: Pat Godwin, Tommy Godwin, Blanche Williams, Era Jernigan, Ralph Godwin, Otis Godwin.Surviving are: daughter, Rev Dr. Diana L Greene; daughters in law, Sue Barbour, Jo Ellen Crowley, Shirley Barbour; grandchildren, Anthony and Tamie Barbour, Andrea Reid, John Arthur Greene, TK Crowley, Jana Crowley, Stephen Barbour, Ann Barbour, Laura Mourik, Lisa Barbour, Lana Barbour, Lorna Barbour; twelve great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.Flowers of welcomed; however, memorials may be sent to First Baptist Church Memorial Fund designated for music and missions, PO Box 717, Four Oaks, NC 27524.Service Information
