Louise Powers

Benson, NC: Mrs. Louise Cox Powers, age 88, of 1103 West Pope Street died Friday, August 15, 2014, at her home.  Funeral Services will be 3:00PM Sunday, August 17, 2014, at the Rose & Graham Funeral Chapel in Benson.  Officiating will be Rev. Paul Burgess and grandson, Christopher Caudle.  Burial will follow in Roselawn Cemetery.        Mrs. Powers was born in Robeson County on December 7, 1925 to the late Thomas Jefferson and Lillian Capps Cox.  She was preceded in death by her husband, James Carl Powers, Sr.; sister, Lee Pearl Cox Prevatte; and brothers, Thomas Rudolph Cox, Rufus Hilbert Cox, James Walker Cox, Knox Cox and Newet Cox.  She was a retired seamstress in the drapery & upholstery business and was a homemaker.  Mrs. Powers was a member of  Benson Baptist Church.      Surviving are children, Joan Powers of Archer Lodge, Kathy & Ronnie Caudle of Benson, Steve Powers of Benson, Jim & Frances Powers of Dunn, Jeffery & LaDonna Powers of Four Oaks, and Malcolm Powers of Angier; nine grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; a sister, Elizabeth Freeman of Lumberton; and numerous nieces & nephews.       The family will receive friends at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson from 6:00PM to 8:00PM Saturday and other times at the home.
