Coats, NC: Mr. Major Daniel Faircloth, age 82, of 190 S. Carrie Street, died Thursday at his residence. Funeral Services will be Sunday at 2:00PM at Coats Church of God. Officiating will be Revs. Hollis Fedrick, Randy Beasley and Dennis Smith. Burial will follow in Red Hill Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery in Benson.
Mr. Faircloth was born April 22, 1933 in Harnett County to the late Samuel Cephus and Irene Messer Faircloth. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Patricia Norris Faircloth; step-mother, Zola Mae Faircloth; sister, Clara Mae Sessoms; and brothers, Lubert Faircloth, Hosea Faircloth, and Junior Faircloth. He was a lineman with the telephone company, a veteran of the US Army Korean Conflict and a member of American Legion Banner Post 109. Mr. Faircloth was also a charter member of Coats Church of God.
Surviving include his wife, Mildred Lee Faircloth; children and spouses, Teresa & Travis Godwin of Coats, Sharon & Luke Lucas of Lillington, Robin & Danny Poole of Coats, and Rhonda & John Page, Jr. of Dunn; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sisters, Carolyn Reaves of Erwin; Revonda Norris of Dunn, JoAnn Hair of Four Oaks, Maxine Dennis of Dunn, Peggy Raynor of SC, Wilma Reynolds of Maryland, Mary Lois Tyndall of Erwin, and Ruth Edmensen of Iowa; brothers, Wilton Faircloth of Benson and Danny Faircloth of Iowa; step children, David Lee, Jr. of Las Vegas, NV and Donald Lee of Angier; 4 step grandchildren; and several step great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Coats from 6:00PM until 8:00PM Saturday and other times at the home.
