Godwin, NC: Mrs. Malissa A. Adams, age 96, passed away on Friday, November 13, 2020 at Liberty Commons Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Benson. Funeral Services will be 1:00 PM, Monday, November 16, 2020 at Stones Creek Advent Christian Church outside Benson. Officiating will be Revs. Scott Johnson and Doug Abel. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.       Mrs. Adams was born on May 8, 1924 in Johnston County to the late Vine Hawkins and Lillie Parker Adams.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, James Woodrow Adams, sons-in-law, Waylon Barefoot and Tony Beasley, granddaughter, Stephanie Pope, sisters, Matha Adams Pope and Verna Mae “Short” Adams.  Mrs. Adams was a homemaker and was also a faithful member of Stones Creek Advent Christian Church where she taught Sunday School, was a devoted choir member, and served in many other capacities.       Surviving include her daughters, Sandra Beasley of Dunn and Phyllis Barefoot of Benson; son, Woody Ray Adams and wife, Sally of Wade; grandchildren, Tina and Wayne Cashwell, Jamie and Heather Adams, Anthony and Amy Beasley, Gale and Kim Beasley, Chrissie and Brad Hardison, Michelle and Scott Corbett, Waylon Dale and Courtney Barefoot and Julie Barefoot; great-grandchildren, Brandon Norris, Hunter Norris, Chipper Cashwell, Haley Cashwell, Madison Adams, Lauren Adams, Katie Budd, Cody Beasley, Callie Beasley, Caleb Beasley, Kayden Beasley, Matthew Beasley, Rylan Beasley, Aubree Hardison, Luke Hardison, Jonathan Corbett, Nathan Corbett, Ethan Corbett, Garrett Barefoot, and Graycen Barefoot; great-great-grandchildren, Alexis Baker, Brayson Norris, Woodrow Norris, Reid Norris, Brooks Beasley, and Eden Budd; brother, John Q. Adams of Havelock; brother-in-law, John D. Adams of Garner; sister-in-law, Annie Surles Parsons of Dunn; many loving nieces and nephews.        Mrs. Adams will be available for viewing and you may sign the register book from 1:00PM-5:00PM, Sunday, November 15, 2020 at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson. The family will not be present during this time.          The family will receive friends following the service at the church on Monday.        In accordance with NC-COVID-19 guidelines, the funeral home suggests practicing social distancing guidelines and the three W's: wait, wash, and wear a face covering.        Memorials may be made to Stones Creek Church Building Fund, C/O Phyllis Barefoot 64, Woods Crossroads Road, Benson, NC 27504.          Arrangements by Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson, NC.
