Margaree Raynor Johnson

February 27, 1926 — October 9, 2018

Four Oaks, NC:  Mrs. Margaree Raynor Johnson, age 92, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother died Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at her residence in the Blackman's Crossroads Community.  Her family was blessed to be with her when she died.   Funeral Services will be 11:00AM Saturday, October 13, 2018 at Blackman's Grove Baptist Church, Four Oaks, NC.  Officiating will be Revs. Rodney Wilson and Jerry Hicks.   Burial will follow in the church cemetery.                               Mrs. Johnson was born February 27, 1926 in Johnston County to the late Frank Wiley and Latha Barefoot Raynor.  She was also preceded in death August 4, 2009 by her husband of 62 years, Earl Benton Johnson, Sr.  Mrs. Johnson was a 1943 graduate of Benson School.                               She and Earl married, January 4, 1947 then moved to the Blackman's Crossroads area on his family farm where they worked side by side. She moved her church membership from Banner Chapel, which she joined when she was 15 years old, and joined Blackman's Grove Baptist Church in September, 1952. She was an active participant in the church for many years and church pianist for 25 years.  Mrs. Johnson was the oldest living member of the church, where she faithfully attended almost every Sunday. She had a passion for Christian music, spending time with family and working in her garden.             Surviving include her daughter, Susan Elaine Johnson and Bob Davis of Four Oaks and Emerald Isle; son, Earl Benton Johnson, Jr. and wife, Lois Tompkins Johnson of Four Oaks; grandchildren, Allison Johnson Stewart and husband, Chad, Brian P. Simmons, Kathleen Marie Johnson, Heather McCullough and husband, Bryan and Katie Lynn Del Rosario; great-grandchildren, Abigail Reese Stewart, Lucas Andrew Stewart and Cora Lynn McCullough; sister, Hazel Raynor Tharrington of Raleigh; brothers, James Franklin Raynor and wife, Shelby of Hopewell, VA and Fred Thompson Raynor and wife, Hilda of Benson; several nieces and nephews.             The family will receive friends 9:30AM - 10:45AM Saturday at Blackman's Grove Baptist Church prior to the service and other times at the home.             In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Blackman's Grove Baptist Church Building or Cemetery Fund, c/o Ed Wood, 5187 Strickland's Crossroads Road, Four Oaks, NC 27524.             Online condolences may be expressed to the family at roseandgraham.com             Announcements by Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson, NC.
