Mrs. Margaret "Peggy" Kennedy Ames, age 85, of 2651 Bailey's Crossroads Road died Thursday at her residence following a courageous battle with cancer. Memorial Services will be held 12:00PM- Saturday at Oliver's Grove Baptist Church, Four Oaks. Officiating will be Rev. Steve Morris.
Mrs. Ames was born on July 17, 1931 in Massachusetts to the late Richard E. and Marjorie Cole Kennedy. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Stanley W. Ames and brothers, William R. Kennedy and Richard E. Kennedy. Mrs. Ames was the owner and operator of MKA Computer Services and was a member of Oliver's Grove Baptist Church.
Surviving are daughters and sons-in-law, Debby Ames and Glenn Tart and Barbara Ames Harding all of Benson and Catherine Ames and Dannie Jackson of Four Oaks; grandchildren and spouses, Amanda Ames Thompson and husband, Adam of Garner, Valerie Tart of Benson, Chelsea Jackson of Smithfield, and Carly and Jonathan Whitley of Four Oaks; great-grandchildren, Aiden Dudley, Liam Dudley, Austin Allen and Emma Thompson; sister-in-law, Janet W. Kennedy.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM-11:45 AM prior to the memorial service at Oliver's Grove Baptist Church.
