Marjorie Lamm

Four Oaks, NC:  Mrs. Marjorie Barbour Lamm, age 82 of 1667 NC Hwy 96 South was welcomed into the arms of her Savior Friday May 15, 2015 due to heart complications. Mrs. Lamm will lie in state for viewing in the sanctuary of First Baptist Church of Smithfield from 12 Noon until 5:45PM on Monday. Funeral Services will be held 6:00PM-Monday at the First Baptist Church of Smithfield. Family will receive friends immediately following the service in the church fellowship hall. Rev. Lee Colbert will officiate. A private burial will follow Tuesday. Mrs. Lamm was born September 14, 1932 in Johnston County to the late Joe B. and Eva Barbour of Keen's Crossroads, Four Oaks. She was preceded in death by a sister, Catherine B. Hill. She graduated from Four Oaks High School in 1951 and attended Hardbarger's Business College. In 1952, she married Carl E. Lamm and they began their life together which was so rich and full of God's blessings that neither of them could have imagined. After rearing her children, Marjorie became involved in various degrees in the radio broadcast industry, always working alongside her husband. She worked as a secretary for WMPM Radio for over thirty years and continued that work as secretary/bookkeeper for WTSB Radio from 2007 until present. Through out her lifetime, Mrs. Lamm was very active in Beulah Hill Christian Church and First Baptist Church of Smithfield. She attended Bible Study Fellowship for numerous years. Surviving are husband of 63 years, Carl Edward Lamm of Four Oaks; children and spouses, Travis Lamm and wife, Barbara of Four Oaks, Lynda L. Carroll and husband, Mike of Smithfield, Mickey Shawn Lamm and wife, Anita of Clayton; eight grandchildren and spouses, Robyn West, Mary Beth Thompson and husband, Jeremy, Hannah Carroll, Emily Johnson and husband, Parker, Adam Carroll and wife, Katherine, Andrew Carroll, Christian Lamm, Grace Ann Carroll; three great-grandchildren; sister, Eunice Caudill Young of Four Oaks; several nieces and nephews. The Lamm Family wishes to thank the Four Oaks Rescue Squad, EMS, and Fire Department for their kindness during this time. In lieu of flowers; memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Smithfield Music Ministry 202 S. Fourth Street Smithfield, NC 27577.
