Martha Jane Moore Strickland

October 7, 1944 — April 8, 2021

Revelation 21:4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

Martha Jane Moore Strickland, age 76 passed away on April 8, 2021. Graveside Funeral Services will be 11:00AM, Thursday, April 15, 2021 at Banner Chapel Advent Christian Church Cemetery, Benson, NC. Pastor Eddie White will officiate.

Martha was born in Johnston County, North Carolina to the late Alton and Delease Moore. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Brenda Sue Moore and Mary Kathryn Moore and a brother, Sherrill Moore. She resided at O’Berry Center for several years before her illness. Martha, in her free time, loved listening to oldies music. She was loving and compassionate and left an impression on everyone she met with her signature smile and long silver locks. Martha could be heard singing “Thank You For Being A Friend,” “Pretty Woman”, and “My Girl.” She loved watching The Golden Girls, and Little House on the Prairie. She will be lovingly remembered for her wit and the way she loved to have fun. She adored her beautiful doll collection. Martha often made others laugh, and she thought it was so funny to see them laugh. Martha will be sadly missed by all.

Martha is survived by her children, Tommy Strickland, (Anita) of Selma, NC and a daughter Carolyn Strickland. Martha leaves to cherish her memory several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.

Arrangements are by Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Four Oaks, NC.

You Never Said Goodbye (Author Unknown)
You never said I’m leaving,
You never said goodbye.
You were gone before I knew it,
And only God knew why.

A million times I needed you,
A million times I cried.
If love alone could have saved you,
You never would have died.

In life I loved you dearly,
In death I love you still.
In my heart you hold a place,
That no one could ever fill.

It broke my heart to lose you,
But you didn’t go alone.
For part of me went with you,
The day God took you home.
