Mavene Hudson

Benson, NC:  Mrs. Mavene Young Hudson, age 85, passed away on Saturday, December 29, 2018, at her residence.  Funeral Service will be 11:00 AM, Tuesday, January 1, 2019, at Rose & Graham Funeral Chapel in Benson.  Burial will follow in Banner Chapel Advent Christian Church Cemetery.  Rev. Steven Campbell will officiate.                 Mrs. Hudson was born February 1, 1933 in Johnston County to the late Elton and Ila Johnson Young.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Carson Hudson and brothers, Wallace Young, E.J. Young and Tommy Ray Young.  Mrs. Hudson was a retired factory worker, a farmer and a homemaker. She was a member of Holly Grove Advent Christian Church.                 Surviving include children; Ruthalene Wood and husband, Donnie of Benson; Rayford Hudson and wife, Gail of Smithfield; grandchildren, Rayford Christopher Hudson and wife, Melissa, Adam Wood, Matthew Wood, and Roderick Colby Hudson and wife, Amy; great-granddaughters, Cheyann Hudson, Mackenzie Hudson and Reese Hudson; sister and brother-in-law, Golda and Shelton Adams of Benson; many nieces and nephews.             The family will receive friends 6:00 PM -8:00 PM, Monday, December 31, 2018, at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson and other times at the home of Ruthalene and Donnie Wood, 2455 NC HWY 242 S.
