Maxton Lee Dowdy

Four Oaks, NC:  Mr. Maxton Lee Dowdy, age 73, formerly of Hockaday Road died Friday, September 23, 2022 at the Open Arms Retirement Home in Raeford, NC.  Graveside Services will be held 3:00PM- Monday, September 26, 2022 at Bethel Original Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery, Four Oaks.  Officiating will be Revs. Billy Nowell and Todd Creech.

Mr. Dowdy was born April 28, 1949 in Johnston County to the late Coolidge and Grace Thompson Dowdy. He worked for the Cumberland County Sheltered Workshop for 26 years.

 He is survived by his brother, Lynwood Dowdy and wife, Elaine of Fayetteville; nephews, Taylor Dowdy and Samuel Dowdy; great-niece, Aurora Dowdy; several loving aunts, uncles and cousins.

Family will receive friends from 1:30PM – 2:45PM on Monday, September 26, 2022 at Bethel Original Free Will Baptist Church in Four Oaks prior to the service.

Flowers are welcomed; however, memorials may be made to Bethel Original Free Will Baptist Church, 3168 NC Hwy 96 South Four Oaks, NC 27524.
