Benson, NC: Major Melvin Ray Buhls II, age 74, of Oak Park Drive passed away on Sunday, January 28, 2024 at his residence.
Mr. Buhls was born on January 16, 1950 in Lincoln Parrish, Louisiana to the late Oliver Linwood and Jimmye Fern Raspberry Buhls. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Leah Buhls. He retired from the United States Marine Corps after 20 years of service and achieving the rank of Major. He preferred not to be the center of attention. He loved his family, especially his grandchildren. He will be remembered as a loving father, grandfather, and friend.
Survivors include his children, Thomas C. Buhls and wife, Sandy, James Bridge and wife, Jen, and Meghan Fisher and husband, Ryan; and his grandchildren, Andy Bridge, Reagan Fisher, and Claire Fisher.
The family appreciates your thoughts and prayers at this time.
