Melvin Leon Norris, Sr.

Mr. Melvin Leon Norris, Sr., age 91 of Four Oaks, NC passed away on Wednesday, November 18, 2020 at Liberty Commons Nursing facility in Benson. A public visitation will be  held 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Rose and Graham Funeral Home in Four Oaks on Friday, November 20, 2020. Mr. Norris was born on May 5, 1929 in Johnston County to the late Clarence and Clyda Moore Norris. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Rose Norris; son-in-law, Brian Jones; brothers, Luther Norris and Lonnie M. Norris; sisters, Pearl Johnson, Dorothy Degrace, and Linda Norris. He retired with 25 years from Carolina Packers in Smithfield.    He is survived by his children, daughters, Wilma Ann Pridgen and husband David of Selma and Chrissie Jones of Garner; sons, Dennis Norris and wife Jackie of Four Oaks, Wayne Norris of Smithfield, and Melvin Leon Norris, Jr. and wife Wendy of Dunn; brothers, Vernon Norris and Ray Norris; sisters, Merle Whitley, Jean Thompson, and Faye Barefoot; 14 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.             In accordance with NC-COVID-19 guidelines, the funeral home suggests practicing social distancing guidelines and the three W's: wait, wash, and wear a face covering. Face covering will be required at visitation.                          Due to the current health concerns the family understands if you are not able to join them for the services.
