Four Oaks, NC: Mrs. Melvine Blackmon Parrish, age 84 of 209 Austin Street died Saturday at Wake Medical Center in Raleigh. Funeral Services will be 2:00PM Monday at Barbour's Chapel Advent Christian Church, Four Oaks. Officiating will be Rev. Ricky Byrd. Burial will follow in church cemetery.
Mrs. Parrish was born August 19, 1930 in Johnston County to the late Frank and Bessie Johnson Blackmon. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Lonzo Parrish, a sister, Angeline Parker. Mrs. Parrish was a homemaker and a member of Barbour's Chapel Advent Christian Church.
Surviving are son and daughter-in-law, Timothy M. Parrish and wife, Jeanette of Willow Spring; four grandchildren and spouses, James Parrish and wife, Martha of Garner, Chad Parrish and wife, Brandi of West Jefferson, Jamie Lassiter and husband, Brandon of Willow Spring, Joshua Jernigan and wife, Sandy of Four Oaks; four great-grandchildren, Brett Boling, Alex Reardon, Samantha Lassiter, and Liberty Parrish; sisters, Maybelle Norris of Smithfield, Lorraine King of Smithfield; brothers, Frank Blackmon, Jr. of Wallace, Marshall Blackmon of Benson, Bruce Blackmon of Greensboro, Ronnie Blackmon of Four Oaks, and Danny Blackmon of Four Oaks; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 6:000PM-8:00PM at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Four Oaks and other times at the home of Tim and Jeanette Parrish 221 Mt. Pleasant Rd. Willow Spring, NC, 27592.
