Coats, NC: Mrs. Meredith Stewart Hardy, age 46, died Monday, September 28, 2015, at her residence. A memorial service will be Sunday, October 18, 2015, at 4:00PM at Rose & Graham Funeral Chapel in Coats. Rev. Dan Greider will officiate.
Meredith was born February 9, 1969 in Guildford County, NC to Carolyn Phillips Spears of Coats and the late Edward Spivey. She was also preceded in death by her step father, Benjamin Spears, and her grandparents M.O. and Kathryn Phillips. Survivors, in addition to her mother, are husband, David Hardy; brothers, Michael Earl Spivey of Liberty, NC and Christopher Edward Spivey of Wilmington, NC; niece, Hannah Spivey; and nephew, George Spivey.
Meredith was passionate about music, and as a teen won several regional and state awards as a solo pianist and band member. Most recently Meredith created a recording label Popsicle Rockslide based in Austin, TX and had several signed artists. Meredith received a BA from UNC Chapel Hill (’91) and MBA from University of Texas (’94), and focused her career on real estate consulting and finance. After two years at Kenneth Leventhal as a consultant in Dallas, TX she returned to Austin, TX and created Infincon Advisory Services where she was president. She later joined AIC Ventures as Lead Acquisitions partner and drove close to $1B in commercial property acquisitions until she retired from AIC in 2007.
Family will receive friends immediately following the memorial service at the home of Carolyn Spears, 135 W. Stewart Street, Coats, NC.
