Mr. Leon Stephenson, Jr.

Smithfield, NC:  Mr. Leon Denning “L.D.” Stephenson, Jr. age 79 of 8058 NC 210 North passed away Monday, December 3, 2012 at his residence. Graveside Funeral Service will be 11:00AM, Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at Hills of the Neuse Memory Gardens, Smithfield, NC.  Officiating will be the Rev. Henry Lee and Rev. Neil Pendley. Mr. Stephenson was born on March 20, 1933 in Johnston County to the late Leon Denning Stephenson, Sr. & Eula Pearl Jones Stephenson.  Mr. Stephenson was a retired shipping clerk with Coble Dairy and Champion Products.  He was preceded in death by a sister, Beatrice Johnson and Brothers, Earl Stephenson, Mack Stephenson, Walter Stephenson and Cleon Stephenson. Mr. Stephenson attended Antioch United Methodist Church.  Surviving include his Wife of 58 years, Shirley Johnson Stephenson, Son & Special Friend, Dewey Leon Stephenson & Pat Sealey of Smithfield, Sisters, Phyllis Evans of Four Oaks, Audrey Holt of Smithfield, Jean Massengill of Four Oaks, and Margie Overman of Richlands;  Two Special Grandchildren, Melissa Dunston and Michelle Sealey, Three Special  Great-Grandchildren, Several Nieces and Nephews. The family will receive friends Tuesday, December 4, 2012, from 6:00PM to 8:00PM at Rose & Graham Funeral home in Four Oaks and other times at the home.  In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to 3HC Hospice, 723 S. 3rd Street, Suite C, Smithfield, NC 27577 or to the National Parkinson Foundation 880 MKL Jr. Blvd, Chapel Hill, NC 27514-2600.
