Nancy Honeycutt

February 10, 1950 — November 10, 2016

Clayton, NC:  Miss Nancy A. Honeycutt, age 66, of 710 John Street died Thursday at Transitions Hospice House in Raleigh.  Graveside services will be held 3:00PM Sunday at Four Oaks City Cemetery, Four Oaks.             Miss Honeycutt was born on February 10, 1950 in Johnston County to the late Herbert Patrick, Jr. and Helen Doggett Honeycutt. She retired from the North Carolina Department of Transportation in Raleigh.                   Nancy loved Beach music, dancing, going to Myrtle Beach, and old horror movies.  She was a huge Carolina Hurricanes fan and was able to attend many games with her dear friend, Debbie, and her husband, Mike.  She loved her family and friends, especially her niece and nephew, Michelle and James.  During her later years, when she was more home bound, she loved going on Facebook and was able to reconnect with many of her old friends from New Bern, which she always considered home.  The love of Nancy's life was her cats, and she had too many throughout the years to name, including the two she leaves behind now, Jax and Elvis.  She will also be remembered for her love of musicals including Phantom of the Opera and Les Miserable.  Among her most memorable trips were visits to Las Vegas, New York, and the Bahamas.  She talked about these often and always reminisced about how much fun she had.                   Surviving are brother and sister-in-law, Gordon N. "Nick" and Barbara Q. Honeycutt of Wake Forest; niece, Michelle K. Honeycutt of London, England; nephew, James P. Honeycutt of Boone; and several special cousins and dear friends.             The family will receive friends at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Four Oaks from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM Sunday prior to the service.             Flowers are welcome, however memorials may be sent to Transitions Lifecare, 250 Hospice Circle, Raleigh, NC  27607 or to Wake County SPCA, 200 Petfinder Lane, Raleigh, NC  27603.             The family would like to thank all of Nancy's friends and well-wishers who have reached out with special thoughts and memories.  They would also like to thank the wonderful staff at Wake Med MICU and Transitions Hospice House, who both provided excellent care during her stay.  We can't begin to tell you how much this means to us.  Thank you.
