Nellie Turlington

Coats, NC: Mrs. Nellie Nordan Turlington age 96 of 413 South Railroad St. died Tuesday October 18, 2011 at Betsy Johnson Regional Hospital in Dunn.  Funeral Service will be held Thursday 11:00AM at the Prospect Free Will Baptist Church.  Officiating will be Rev. Kevin Haynes. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  Mrs. Turlington was born November 11, 1914 in Harnett County to the late Zeb and Polly Norris Nordan.  She was a homemaker and a retired farmer. Mrs. Turlington was a member of Prospect Free Will Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by husband, Ralph Turlington; daughter, Joyce Denton; brother, Aaron Nordan, Cleve Nordan, Lee Nordan, and sister Elsie Ferguson. Surviving include, Daughters & Son-in-laws, Faye Cornell of Arizona, Libby & Grady Cockrell of Emerald Isle, NC; Sons & Daughters-in-law, Rev. Floyd & Alice Turlington of Coats, Jackie & Linda Turlington of Sparta, NC; 18 Grandchildren;  32 Great-Grandchildren; 26 Great-Great Grandchildren; Several Nieces and Nephews. Family will receive friends 6:00PM to 8:00PM Wednesday at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Coats.
