Norman Wilson Coats

Benson, NC: Mr. Norman Wilson Coats, age 82, of 301 S. Pine Street died Saturday, July 20, 2019 at Kitty Atkins Hospice House in Goldsboro.  Funeral Service will be 5:00 PM, Tuesday, July 23, 2019 at Rose & Graham Funeral Home Chapel in Benson. Officiating will be Rev. Randy Beasley. Graveside Services will be 10:00AM Wednesday, July 24, 2019 at Roselawn Cemetery in Benson.             Mr. Coats was born April 11, 1937 in Johnston County to the late Norman Alfred and Fannie Strickland Coats.  He was also preceded in death by his step-children, William Randy Davis, Norman Davis, Jr., Sherry Lynn Mitchell; and a granddaughter, Norma Gail Davis. Mr. Coats retired from the U.S. Postal Service as a mail carrier and was a U. S. Air Force Veteran.                       Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Melba Gray Coats; step-children, Eddie Wayne Davis and wife, Dawn of Dunn, Kathy Woodall and husband, Howard Griffin of Coats; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter; several nieces and nephews.             The family will receive friends immediately following the service on Tuesday at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson and other times at the home.              Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.roseandgraham.com              Arrangements are by Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson, NC.
