Benson, NC: Mr. Paul Leon "Bobby" Jernigan, age 72, of 588-D Godwin Lake Road died Wednesday at his residence. Graveside services will be 2:00 PM Sunday at Blackman's Family Cemetery in Benson. Officiating will be Revs. Billy Hundley and Herbert Johnson
Mr. Jernigan was born on August 25, 1942 in Johnston County to the late Luby and Vonger Lee Jernigan. He was also preceded in death by brothers, James Jernigan and Billy Jernigan. Mr. Jernigan was an auto mechanic at Dorman Cadillac Oldsmobile in Dunn.
He is survived by fiancé, Doris Pope; daughters & sons-in-law, Gail & Travis Lee of Benson, Michelle & Wayne Mitchell of Princeton; four grandchildren; step-children, Terry & Robert Wiggins of Angier, Glenda & Bob Bowman of Niles, Michigan, Libby & Doug Woodard and Pam & Keith Pittman all of Kenly, Wesley Pope of Sims; five step-grandchildren; one step-great grandson; sisters & brother-in-law, Faye & Harold Marler and Kaye Barefoot all of Dunn; foster sister, Linda Toole of Kenly; foster brothers, Jimmy Jernigan of Lake Royal, Eddie Jernigan of California; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM Saturday at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson and other times at the home.
