Peggy Barbour Barefoot

Coats, NC: Mrs. Peggy Barbour Barefoot, age 81, passed away on Saturday, February 8, 2025 at UNC Johnston Health in Smithfield, NC. Funeral Services will be 1:00PM-Wednesday, February 12, 2025 at Benson Grove Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Dr. Billy Cashwell and Mr. Barry Barbour will officiate. 

Mrs. Barefoot was born on November 26, 1943 in Johnston County, NC to the late Colon Leon Barbour and Goldie Parrish Barbour. She was also preceded in death by her husband, J. C. Barefoot, step-sons, Jimmy Barefoot, Donald Barefoot, and David Barefoot. Mrs. Barefoot was a member of Benson Grove Baptist Church where she sang in the choir, and was a member of the Ladies Circle where she was the card sender. She served the Lord and the church any way she could. She was also a homemaker and was loved by her family. 

Survivors include her son, Chuck Regan of Coats, NC; step-children, Melanie Massengill of Four Oaks, NC, and Michael Barefoot of Shallotte, NC; several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; sister, Jean B. Bridgers of Apex, NC; nephew, Robert H. Bridgers of Holly Springs, NC; and a niece, Pamela B. Oglesby of New Port, NC. 

The family will receive friends from 12:00PM-1:00PM, Wednesday, February 12, 2025 at Benson Grove Baptist Church.
