Peggy Parker

Benson, NC:  Mrs. Peggy Barbour Parker, age 71, of 289 Parker’s Mill Road died Wednesday, January 25, 2012, at Wake Medical Center in Raleigh. Funeral services will be 11:00AM Saturday, January 28, 2012, at Smyrna Free Will Baptist Church. Officiating will be Rev. Richard Whitman. Interment will follow in the Alsey Parker Family Cemetery, 289 Parker’s Mill Road, Benson. Mrs. Parker was born September 17, 1940 in Johnston County to the late John Robert and Lonnie Parker Barbour. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Alsey Franklin Parker, Sr.  Mrs. Parker was a homemaker and member of Smyrna Free Will Baptist Church where she served as the choir director and as a Sunday School teacher.  She was also a member of the Ethel Tart Circle Ladies’ Auxiliary. Surviving include Daughters, Wendy Parker, Wanda Johnson & husband, Brian, and Cindy Biggerstaff, all of Benson; Son, Alsey Franklin Parker, Jr. & wife, Lisa, of Willow Spring; Grandchildren, Amanda Johnson and Joshua Johnson; Sister & Brother-in-Law, Laura B. & Jimmy Guy of Four Oaks. Family will receive friends at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson from 6:00PM to 8:00PM Friday, January 27, 2012. Flowers are welcomed; however, memorials may be made to Smyrna Free Will Baptist Church, 11415 NC 96 Hwy South, Dunn, NC  28334.
