Pias B. "P.B." Jernigan

Raleigh, NC: Mr. Pias B. “P.B.” Jernigan, age 82, of Rand Road, passed away on Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at Transitions LifeCare in Raleigh surrounded by his loving family. Funeral Services will be held-3:00 PM Tuesday, January 3, 2023 at the Rose & Graham Funeral Home Chapel in Benson. Officiating will be Rev. Greg Jenks and Mr. Ronald Hudson. Burial will follow in Banner’s Chapel Advent Christian Church Cemetery in Benson. 

Mr. Jernigan was born on December 25, 1940 in Johnston County to the late Herman Allen and Murrel Hudson Jernigan. He grew up in Johnston County and married Maverine Adams on October 1, 1960. Mr. Jernigan began working with WRAL-TV in 1961 and retired after 52 years of service. He was a member of Holland’s United Methodist Church for more than 50 years. Mr. Jernigan was a kind, gentle, and generous spirit who was always willing to help others. He loved gardening and watching TV with his three cats. Mr. Jernigan loved the family fishing trips to Morehead City and he could fix about anything.

Surviving are his loving wife of 62 years, Maverine Adams Jernigan; sons, Roger Jernigan and wife, Karen of Concord, Tracy Jernigan and wife, Dawn of Sparta, NC; four grandchildren, Jacob Jernigan and wife, Nichole, Zach Jernigan and wife, Ann, Jarod Jernigan, and Macy Jernigan Sauls and husband, Chris; one great-granddaughter, Madelyn Paige Jernigan; expected great-grandson in February 2023; sisters, Jean Hudson and husband, J.R. of Newton Grove, Nancy Allen of Benson, and brother, Donald Jernigan of Benson; numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 1:30PM to 2:45PM on Tuesday, January 3, 2023 at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson prior to the service and other times at the home.
