Coats – Mrs. Reba Lee Pope Byrd, age 90, of 599 Live Oak Road died Sunday at Betsy Johnson Regional Hospital in Dunn. Funeral service will be 3:00 PM Thursday at Rose & Graham Chapel in Coats. Elders Fred Williams, Tony Parker and David Brooks will officiate. Burial will follow in Harnett Devotional Gardens in Dunn.
Mrs. Byrd was born June 30, 1921 in Harnett County to the late Joseph Benjamin and Leva Johnson Pope. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Hubert D. Byrd. Mrs. Byrd was a homemaker and a member of Little Flock Primitive Baptist Church.
Surviving are Son & Daughter-in-Law, Glenwood & Gloria Byrd of Coats; Daughter, Faye Jeanett Byrd of New Bern; Grandchildren, Kaye Hill Smith, Deborah Whaley, Glen Byrd, Jr., and Andrew Dan Byrd; Great Grandchildren, Patrick Whaley, Andrew Whaley, Ashley Hill, Emily Walker and August Byrd; Sisters, Hazel Tart of Coats and Lena Honeycutt of Michigan; and Brother, David Pope of Virginia.
The family will receive friends at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Coats from 1:00pm to 2:30pm Thursday prior to the service and other times at the home of Glenwood and Gloria Byrd, 597 Live Oak Road, Coats.
