Rev. Condary Ellis, Jr.

Dunn, NC:  Rev. Condary Ellis, Jr., age 81, of 1010 Friendly Road died Friday, September 28, 2018 at his residence.  Funeral Service will be 3:00PM, Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at Hodges Chapel Free Will Baptist Church.  Officiating will be Revs. Curtis Tatum, Randy Carter and Michael Preddy. Entombment will follow in Devotional Gardens, Dunn.             Rev. Ellis was born June 20, 1937  in Johnston County to the late Condary, Sr. and Mary Hill Eills.  He was also preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Eills; son-in-law, Michael Ammons; sisters, Lilly Mae Johnson, Bertha Martin, Isabelle Via, and Cornilia Newsome. Rev. Ellis was a teacher for many years and taught at Dunn Middle School, Benson Middle School and Dunn High School. He was also a minister for 54 years with the Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church and served in many churches as pastor and they include: Stoney Run PFWB Church, Erwin Chapel PFWB Church, Hodges Chapel PFWB Church, Miller's Chapel PFWB Church, and Beulaville PFWB Church. Rev. Ellis was a member of Erwin Chapel PFWB Church.               Surviving are son, Condary Ellis, III and wife, Elaine of Dunn; daughter, Sharon E. Ammons of Coats; grandchildren, Jordan Ellis, Taylor Ellis, Matthew Ammons and wife, Jenna, and Corey Ammons; brothers, Jerry Ellis of California, and Larry Ellis and wife, Kris of Silver Springs, Maryland; several nieces and nephews.             The family will receive friends 1:00PM - 2:30PM, Wednesday, October 3, 2018 prior to the service at the church and other times at the home.               Flowers are welcomed; however, memorials may be made to Transitions Lifecare 250 Hospice Circle Road Raleigh, NC 27607.
