Four Oaks, NC: Rev. Repsie Thompson Johnson, age 91, of Strickland’s Crossroads Road passed away on Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at Remington Transitional Care of San Antonio in Texas. Funeral Services will be held 11:00AM-Saturday, October 23, 2021 at the First Baptist Church in Four Oaks. Officiating will be Revs. Johnny Peterson, Kevin Peterson, Dr. Preston Heath and Rev. John Norman. Burial will follow in the Faith Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery, Four Oaks.
Rev. Johnson was born on February 8, 1930 in Johnston County to the late Walter and Mabel Phillips Thompson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hiram L. Johnson; grandsons, Elijah Jernigan and Shawn-Michael Jernigan; sisters and brothers, Callie Watkins, Edith Thompson, Leatha Puckett, Ethel Casio, J.W. Thompson, Copper Thompson; brother-nephew, C.P. Thompson. Rev. Johnson retired from Shallco after 20 plus years of service. She was a minister with the Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church for over 50 years and a chaplain at UNC Johnston Health Hospital in Smithfield for over 15 years. She was very instrumental in raising money for the building of the SECU Hospice House in Smithfield.
Surviving are her daughters, Debra Jernigan and husband, Ray of San Antonio, Texas, Melanie Autry and husband, Charlie of Four Oaks; grandchildren, Travis Jernigan (Sherry), Melissa Roovers (Yrjo), Christina Straughan (Jason), Jesse Ryan Jernigan(Tila), Kenneth Johnson Morris(Alisa), Hunter Morris (Brittany), Scarlett Wynter Wood (Tyler), Noah Autry; nine great-grandchildren; granddaughters-in-law, Tiffany Jernigan and Brandy Orr; sister, Mable Cooke of Wilmington; sister-nieces, Helen Stewart of Benson, Shirley Johnson of Fayetteville; numerous nieces and nephews.
The Johnson Family would like to extend their deepest appreciation to her great-granddaughter, Candence Star Jernigan for her tender loving care that she gave to her great-grandmother during her time in Texas.
The family will receive friends from 6:00PM to 8:00PM on Friday, October 22, 2021 at Rose and Graham Funeral Home in Four Oaks and other times at the home.
In accordance with NC-COVID19 guidelines, the funeral home suggests practicing social distancing guidelines and the three W’s: wait, wash, and wear a face covering. Face coverings are not required, but are kindly recommended for all services
Flowers are welcomed; however, memorials may be made to the SECU Hospice House, P.O. Box 1376 Smithfield, NC 27577 or to one’s church of choice.
