Four Oaks: Rev. Terry Dallas Batten, age 53, of 2987 Joyner Bridge Road died Tuesday at UNC Johnston Health in Smithfield. Celebration of Life services will be held 6:00 PM Thursday, November 17, 2016 at Cornerstone Baptist Church in Four Oaks. Officiating will be Dr. Henry Rodgers and Rev. Steve Grice.
Rev. Batten was born March 16, 1963 in Johnston County to Robert Joseph "Joe" and Doris Raynor Batten. He was preceded in death by his brother, Ronnie Batten. Rev. Batten worked for Johnston County Industries as corporate business development manager and was also the current Pastor of Cornerstone Baptist Church in Four Oaks.
Surviving in addition to his parents are, wife of 34 years, Sheila M. Batten of Four Oaks; son and daughter-in-law, Chase and Jamie Batten of Benson; daughter, Sawyer Batten of Wilmington; adopted-daughter and son-in-law, Johanna and Brandon Barker of Clayton; two grandchildren, Cassidy and Joseph Batten; sister and brother-in-law, Marie and James Barbour of Clayton; brothers and sister-in-law, Robin and Lynelle Batten of Four Oaks, Glenn Batten of Four Oaks; several nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends immediately following the service and other times at the home.
