Richard Andrew "R.A." Jackson

Mr. Richard Andrew “R.A.” Jackson, age 83, passed away on Saturday, October 22, 2022 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. Graveside Memorial Services will be held 11:00AM on Friday, October 28, 2022 at Barbour’s Chapel Advent Christian Church Cemetery, 164 Barbour's Chapel Road Four Oaks, NC.  Rev. Rodney Raby will officiate, with Military and Fireman Honors.

Mr. Jackson was born on July 20, 1939 in Johnston County, NC to the late Walter and Louia Blackmon Jackson.  He was preceded in death by his first wife, Louise Pollard Jackson, step-daughter, Jennifer Weeks Hall, his siblings, Josephine Turner, Jean Hawley, Shorty Jackson, Nancy Parker and Jimmy Jackson.  Mr. Jackson was the owner and operator of Four Oaks Tire Service in Four Oaks, NC.  He was also a retired Fire Marshal for Johnston County.  Mr. Jackson served as the Chief of Four Oaks Fire Department for over 30 years.

Survivors include his wife of 28 years, Janet Leigh Jackson; daughters, Lucinda Van Hoy and fiancé, Glenn Thornton, Amy Futrell and husband, Tony, Stephanie Jackson Thompson, and Amanda Weeks Carr; grandchildren, Andrew Van Hoy and wife, Abby; Austin Van Hoy, Katelyn Madey and husband, Josh, Marye McKenly Thompson and Ryan Henry Carr; great-granddaughter, Emma Bonner; sister, Jackie Parrish; several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends following the Graveside Service and other times at the home, 414 Pine Drive Four Oaks, NC
