Richard Wayne Lawrence

Angier, NC:  Mr. Richard Wayne Lawrence, age 68, of 190 Gran Nad Lane died Friday, July 5, 2019 at Betsy Johnson Regional Hospital.  Funeral Services will be 3:00 PM Wednesday, July 10, 2019 at the Coats Baptist Church Sanctuary in Coats. Rev. James O’Brien will officiate.  Burial will follow in Lakeside Memorial Gardens in Angier.               Mr. Lawrence was born on August 23, 1950 in Harnett County to the late Richard Conrad and Pauline Lawrence. He was a retired volunteer fireman with the Buies Creek Fire and Rescue for twenty six years and with Coats Grove Fire and Rescue for 10 years. Mr. Lawrence was a member of Greater Light Baptist Church in Angier.             Wayne was a loving husband, daddy, Pa, Papa Wayne, brother, uncle, and also a loyal friend to so many people who’s lives were touched in a way they will never forget.  He left a lasting impression of kindness and generosity on all those he knew.  Wayne was also an avid hunter and outdoorsman.  He loved cooking on the grill, for everyone and spending time with friends and family.                 Surviving include his wife of 47 years, Kay Young Lawrence of Angier; children, Karen Lawrence of Angier, Jenny L. Jernigan and husband, Kevin of Angier, Jo Ann Barnes of Angier and Amanda Bell of Linden; two grandchildren, Dalton Jernigan and Nate Bell; mother- in -law, Della Pleasant; sister, Donna L. Riewestahl of Angier; numerous nieces and nephews.  Preceding in death were brother Willie Lawrence and Brother in law James Riewestahl.             The family will receive friends 6:00PM-8:00PM, Tuesday, July 9, 2019 at Coats Baptist Church Fellowship Hall in Coats and other times at the home of Jenny and Kevin Jernigan, 243 Gran Nad Lane, Angier, NC 27501.     In lieu of flowers, memorials in remembrance of Wayne Lawrence may be made to Greater Light Baptist Church, PO Box 1318, Angier, NC 27501.     Arrangements by Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Coats, NC
