Robert Evans

Four Oaks, NC: Mr. Robert McCoy Evans, age 86, of 500 Sanders Street died Friday, October 19, 2012, at his residence. Funeral services will be 11:00AM Monday, October 22, 2012, at First Baptist Church of Four Oaks. Officiating will be Rev. John Norman and Rev. Marie Fox. Burial will follow in Four Oaks City Cemetery. Mr. Evans was born August 8, 1926 in Johnston County to the late Bythan Ross and Martha Allen Evans. He was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Gary Blackmon, great grandson, Lucas Daniel Jackson; sisters, Minnie E. Moore, Cassie E. Massengill, Leola E. Woodall, Virginia Mae Evans, and Mattie E. Bangs; and brothers, Willie Radford Evans, Rufus Braxton Evans, Noah Wright Evans, Jesse Wright Evans.  Mr. Evans served in the U. S. Navy and worked with the Atlantic Coastline Railroad system for over 40 years.  He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Four Oaks, Four Oaks Boys Club, and Four Oaks Civitan Club.  Mr. Evans was a charter member of the South Johnston Booster Club. Surviving include; devoted and loving wife of 62 years, Nancy Prevatte Evans; Sons & Daughter-in-law, Robert Michael Evans and William Ross & Amy J. Evans, all of Four Oaks; Daughters & Son-in-law, Debra E. Blackmon and Candy E. & John Littleton, all of Four Oaks; 6 Grandchildren; and 6 Great Grandchildren. Family will receive friends at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Four Oaks from 6:00PM to 8:00PM Sunday, October 21, 2012.
