Roy Byrd, Jr.

Erwin, NC:  Mr. Roy Randall Byrd, Jr. age 59 of 104 Farmers Lane died Friday at Rex Healthcare in Raleigh. Funeral services will be 11:00AM Monday at the Erwin United Methodist Church. Officiating will be Rev. Jimmie Tatum. Burial will follow in Hills of the Neuse Memory Gardens, Smithfield. Mr. Byrd was born March 18, 1952 in Johnston County to Grace Johnson Byrd of Four Oaks and the late Roy Randall Byrd, Sr.  He was a 40 year employee of Chicopee/PGI in Benson, and was a member of the Erwin United Methodist Church where he served in many capacities. Surviving in addition to his Mother, is his Wife of 30 years, Janice Turlington Byrd; Daughter, Amy Byrd and Fiancée, Zach Hurlocker of Raleigh; Son, Adam Byrd and Fiancée, Leigh Matthews of Coats; Sisters & Brothers-In-Law, Gale & Cecil Etheridge of Apex and Jean & Billy Wall of Wilmington. Family will receive friends at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson from 6:00PM to 8:00PM Sunday.   Flowers are welcomed; however memorials may be made to the Erwin United Methodist Church Family Life Center or to the Youth Program, 610 Denim Drive, Erwin, NC 28334.
