McGee's Crossroads: Mrs. Ruby "Nana" Mims Barbour, age 82, of 2449 Stephenson Rd died Saturday at Wake Medical Center in Raleigh. Funeral Service will be 11:00AM Thursday at Rose & Graham Funeral Home Chapel in Benson. Officiating will be Rev. Billy Nowell. Burial will follow in Fellowship Community Cemetery, Angier.
Mrs. Barbour was born on April 11, 1934 in Wake County to the late Aileen Truelove Yarborough and step-father, P.A. Yarborough. She retired from Data General and was a member of Berea Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Barbour was preceded in death by son-in-law, Chris Jackson, grandbabies, Andrew, Daniel and Logan Barbour; step-brother, Junior Yarborough; step-sister, Linda Y. Waddell. Nana was an inspiration to all that she met and always found the good in everyone.
Surviving are husband of 59 years, Homer Douglas Barbour of Benson; children and spouses, Jennifer B. Holland and husband, Kenneth of Selma, Wayne Barbour of Angier, Donald Barbour of Benson, Wanda B. Raulerson of Cary, Amy B. Clifton and husband, Derek of Benson; Andy Barbour and wife, Leigh of Meadow, Christy B. Jackson of Benson; foster son, Foy Ray McNeil of Benson; grandbabies, Scott Holland, Michael Holland, Garrett Barbour, Delanie Barbour, Lauren Jackson, Marlee Barbour, Ansleigh Barbour; step-brother, Jerry Yarborough of SC, step-sister, Cathy Y. Cantey of SC; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson from 6:00PM to 8:00PM Wednesday and other times at the home.
