McGee’s Crossroads, NC: Mrs. Ruthalae “Ruth” Parrish Ryals, age 84, of McGee’s Crossroads died Saturday, June 9, 2012, at SECU Hospice House in Smithfield. Funeral services will be 11:0AM Monday, June 11, 2012, at Johnson Memorial Church. Officiating will be Revs. R.B. Parrish and Chris Searles. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Ryals was born September 29, 1927, in Johnston County to the late Elder Renzie and Clyda Clifton Parrish. She was also preceded in death by her Husband, Irving Lee Ryals; Son-In-Law, Jimmy Penny; Sister, Nadine Langdon; and Brothers, Elder Curtis Parrish, Jacob Parrish, and Johnny Parrish. Mrs. Ryals was a graduate of Cleveland High School, Class of 1944. She was a member of Johnson Memorial Church, the Ladies’ Auxiliary, and was an assistant Sunday School teacher. Mrs. Ryals was a homemaker and helped her husband and family on the farm.
Surviving are Children & Spouses; Gwen R. Penny of McGee’s Crossroads, Janet R. & Jimmy Parker of Benson, Terry R. Byrd, and Patty R. & Ray Honeycutt, all of McGee’s Crossroads; Brother & Sister-In-Law, Rev. R.B. & Charlotte Parrish of McGee’s Crossroads; Seven Grandchildren; and Seven Great Grandchildren.
Family will receive friends at Johnson Memorial Church from 10:00AM to 10:45AM Monday, June 11, 2012, prior to the service, and other times at the home of Ray and Patty Honeycutt, 4470 Zack’s Mill Rd., Angier, NC.
