Samuel Scott Byrd

Benson, NC: Mr. Samuel Scott Byrd, age 48, passed away on Monday, August 8, 2022.  Graveside Funeral Services will be 11:00AM-Thursday, August 11, 2022 at Roselawn Cemetery in Benson, NC.  Rev. Bennie Grimes will officiate. 

Scott was born on May 7, 1974 in Harnett County, NC.  He was preceded in death by his infant brother, his mother, Dianne Wood Byrd, grandparents, Eddie Byrd and Iva Byrd, and Lee Junior Wood and Irene Wood. Scott worked with his family at Byrd’s Gas and Grocery. He was a jack of all trades with a passion for helping others.  He was loved by many and will be missed more than he could have ever imagined.

Survivors include his father, Pete Byrd; sisters, Shannon Austin and husband, Jay, and Tina Barbee and husband, Todd; nieces, Madison Barbee and Carmen Barbee; nephews, Dillon Austin and Kelsey, and Riley Austin and Lauren; many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins.

The family will receive friends at the home of Pete Byrd 1051 NC HWY 242 S. Benson, NC 27504, immediately following the graveside service.
