Sergeant First Class Larry Christopher Alford

March 26, 1975 — September 19, 2014

Sergeant First Class Larry Christopher "Chris" Alford, age 39, of 2205 Thompson Road went to be with his Lord and Savior, Friday at his home. Funeral services will be 11:00AM Tuesday at Four Oaks First Baptist Church in Four Oaks. Officiating will be  Revs. John Norman, Todd Creech and Elder Tony Parker.  Burial will follow in Four Oaks City Cemetery with Full Military Honors. Chris was born on March 26, 1975 in Johnston County. He was preceded in death by his father, Larry Don Alford; paternal grandfathers, Master Sergeant Kermit Vinson and David H. Alford, Jr.; maternal grandparents, Fletcher and Viola Ellis. Chris retired from the U. S. Army as a Green Beret and served in tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. Chris was an Eagle Scout and a member of Four Oaks Baptist Church. Surviving are his parents, Nancy and Dennis Benson of Four Oaks, daughter, Ashley Alford of Gibsonville; sisters, June A. Blue and husband, Lewis of Carthage and Lori A. Norris and husband, Rodney of Four Oaks; brother, Dennis D. Benson, Jr. of Four Oaks; maternal grandmother, Lessie M. Vinson of Four Oaks; and special aunts, uncles and nieces. The family will receive friends at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Four Oaks from 6:00PM to 8:000PM Monday.
