Coats, NC: Sgt. Daryl Clay Meadows, Jr., age 27, of Tower Drive died Saturday, November 28, 2020 at his residence. Funeral Services will be 11:00AM Thursday, December 3, 2020 at the Rose & Graham Funeral Home Chapel in Benson. Officiating will be Revs. Lavern Hayden and Bobby Revels. Burial will follow in Lakeside Memorial Gardens in Angier.
Clay was born August 7, 1993 in Cumberland County. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Fernie Ellen Meadows. Clay was an officer with the Coats Police Department for 5 years. He was called to preach at the age of 17 and ministered for 10 years. Clay loved to sing and play his banjo along with many other instruments. He had a servant’s heart and loved protecting his community.
Surviving are his wife, Bethany Kinlaw Meadows of Coats; children, Marilla Jan Meadows, Elisha Clay Meadows, Baby Meadows 2021 all of the home; parents, Daryl Clay, Sr. and Amy Beasley Meadows of Coats; brother, Marcus Daniel Meadows and wife, Katelynne of Coats; maternal grandparents, Shelton Beasley and wife, Elaine of Dunn; paternal grandfather, Marvin Meadows of Coats; several beloved aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Clay will be available for viewing, and you may sign the register book on Wednesday, December 2, 2020 from 6:00PM-8:00PM at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson. The family will not be present during this time. The family will receive friends immediately following the committal service at the graveside on Thursday.
In accordance with NC-COVID19 guidelines, the funeral home suggests practicing social distancing and the three W's: wait, wash, and wear a face covering. Masks are required for all services.
