Shirley Levorse

Coats, NC:  Mrs. Shirley Engle Levorse, age 80 passed away Friday, December 2, 2016, surrounded by her loved ones.  Funeral services will be 4:00PM Tuesday, December 6, 2016, at Rose & Graham Funeral Home Chapel in Coats.  Officiating will be Rev. Ron Barefoot.             Mrs. Levorse, was born in Rock Hill, SC, on June 1, 1936, to the late William and Ruby Rollins Engle. She was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Jessica Ann Lopez; sister, Jean Snow; and brother, Don Engle.              After traveling the United States, which included her favorite places of Alaska and Cody, Wyoming, with her husband, Charles, the couple created a permanent home in Coats, NC.  One of her greatest passions was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.  She was a vibrant woman who enjoyed teaching line dancing and serving her community by volunteering at the Coats and Dunn Senior Centers.             She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Charles J. Levorse; sons, Michael Levorse & wife, Teresa, of Mebane, Chuck Levorse & wife, Connie, of Coats,  Stephen Levorse & wife, Angela, of Norfolk, VA; daughter, Theresa Lopez & husband, Mark, of Knightdale;  grandchildren, Robert Levorse & wife, Jessica, Justin Levorse & wife, Audrey, Adam Levorse & wife, Cayenne, Katie Hamby & husband, Steven, Andrew Lopez, Ashley Storm Levorse, Holly Lopez, Charles Levorse & Dylan Levorse; and 5 great grandchildren.                Family will receive friends at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Coats immediately following the service on Tuesday.             In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to American Cancer Society, 8300 Health Park, Suite 10, Raleigh, NC  27612.
