Mrs. Shirley Faye P. Parker, age 80, of 2118 NC Hwy 242 S., died Friday at Liberty Commons Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Benson. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Monday at Rose & Graham Funeral Chapel in Benson. Officiating will be Rev. Paul Conley. Burial will follow in Roselawn Cemetery.
Mrs. Parker was born September 4, 1935 in Johnston County to the late Wilbert G. and Mary Magdalene Adams Parker. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles Grey Parker; son, Anthony Wayne "Andy" Parker; grandson, Dylan Paul Parker and a sister, Ethel Holmes. Mrs. Parker established The Pumpkin Patch and Caroline's clothing stores in downtown Benson, named after her grandsons and first granddaughter. She was also a member of Holly Grove Advent Christian Church in Benson. Mrs. Parker was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Her unconditional love and support for others will be greatly missed.
Surviving are her children and spouses, Charles Glenn and Cynthia Parker of Benson, Carol P. and Dr. Michael Lewis of Paris, TX, and Marty and Connie Parker of Benson; grandchildren, Jeremy Parker and wife, Celia of Four Oaks; Johnathan Parker of Clayton, Jarrett Parker of Garner, Phillip Parker of Dunn, Charles Glenn Parker, Jr. of Benson, Anthony Parker of Raleigh, Dustin Parker of Knoxville, TN, Daniel Parker and wife, Emilee of Benson, Parker Lewis and wife, Megan of Ft. Worth, TX, Caroline Barbee and husband, Ethan of Raleigh, Catherine Faye Lindberg and husband, Josh of Dallas, TX; great-grandchildren, Grant Parker of Benson, Logan Parker of Hope Mills, Pearson and Nolan Lewis of Ft. Worth, TX; sister, Sue Parker Stockwell and husband, Bob Stockwell of Raleigh; and several nieces and nephews. Also, a special thank you to her long-time caregiver, Teresa Barefoot.
The family will receive friends at Rose & Graham Funeral Home Sunday 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM and other times at the home.
Flowers will be accepted as well as donations to Alzheimer's Association.
