Coats, NC: Mrs. Shirley Matthews Pleasant, age 74, of 5471 Red Hill Church road died Saturday at Wake Medical Center. A Funeral service will be 11:00AM Tuesday at the Rose & Graham Funeral Home Chapel in Benson. Burial will follow in Devotional Gardens, Dunn, NC. Officiating will be Rev. David Matthews & Rev. Jerome Pope. Mrs. Pleasant was born April 10, 1938 in Johnston County to the late Otha I. & Irene Raynor Matthews. She was also preceded in death by her husband V. Rayvon Pleasant, four sisters and two brothers. Mrs. Pleasant had retired from Erwin Mills and was a homemaker. She attended Oakdale Baptist Church.             Surviving include her Daughters & Son-in-law, Diane Mattews and Special Friend Frankie Matthews of Bunnlevel, Brenda Pleasant of Coats & Renee & Tony Barbour of Angier; Son, Danny Pleasant of Coats. Four Grandchildren, Bridget Pope, Casey Townsend, Maranda Evans and Austin Barbour. Several Nieces and Nephews.             Family will receive friends from 6:00PM-8:00PM Monday, January 7, 2013 at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson.
