Shirley Ruth Huffman Wallace

Princeton, NC: Mrs. Shirley Ruth Huffman Wallace, age 80, of Progressive Church Road passed away on Thursday, May 30, 2024 at SECU Hospice House in Smithfield. Funeral Services will be held-11:00 AM on Monday, June 3, 2024 at Tee’s Chapel Free Will Baptist Church in Smithfield. Officiating will be Rev. Dennis Pollock. Burial will follow in D.A. Overby Cemetery in Smithfield.

Shirley was born on November 9, 1943 in Burke County to the late Macon Andrew Huffman and Mary Emeline Cline. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by siblings, Doris Bryant and Roby Leroy Huffman.  In her early years she was a homemaker but later in life she went to work at Brogden Mills where she worked up until her retirement.  Shirley loved to bake, knit, gardening and chasing youngins.  Her family was her life.

Surviving include her husband of 55 years, Robert Wallace; children, Tony Andrew Huffman of Dunn, Mary Christine Wallace of Pine Level and Donald Glenn Wallace of Princeton; nine grandchildren and several great grandchildren; siblings, Mabel Stewart, Judy Carter, Brenda Sapp, Sue Garner, Fred Huffman and Tommy Huffman.

The family will greet friends on Monday, June 3, 2024 from 10:00AM -10:45AM at Tee’s Chapel Freewill Baptist Church.
