Shirley Ann Parrish

Benson, NC: Mrs. Shirley Ann Wood Parrish, age 62, of Benson died Sunday, August 5, 2012, at Wake Medical Center in Raleigh. A Graveside service will be 11:00AM Wednesday, August 8, 2012, at Roselawn Cemetery, Benson. Officiating will be Rev. Charles Royal.               Mrs. Parrish was born July 3, 1950 in Wake County to the late David Wood, Sr. and Daisy Jernigan Wood.  She was also preceded in death by an infant daughter, Meredith Ann Parrish.  Mrs. Parrish was a 1968 graduate of Benson High School, and attended Campbell University. She worked for the State of North Carolina Department of Labor and was a member of the Benson Baptist Church.                 Surviving include Son, Bradford Parrish of Benson; Twin Sister, Betty Jo W. Bennett, and husband, Gregg, of Coats; Brother, David Wood, Jr., and wife, Sylvia, of Benson; Two Grandchildren,  David Ray Parrish and Brandon Xavier Norris; and Nieces & Nephews.             Family will receive friends Wednesday at Roselawn Cemetery, Benson, immediately following the graveside service and other times at the home of Betty Jo & Gregg Bennett, 4105 Red Hill Church Road, Coats, NC  27521.             Flowers are welcomed; however memorials may be made to American Diabetes Association, 2418 Blue Ridge Road, Suite 206, Raleigh, NC  27607.
