Raleigh, NC: Mrs. Shirley Norris Mangum, age 80, of 417 Northwood Drive, died Friday at her residence. Graveside services will be 11:00AM-Saturday at Roselawn Cemetery in Benson. Officiating will be Rev. J. D. Norris, Jr.
Mrs. Mangum was born July 21, 1935 in Harnett County to the late John David, Sr. and Mavle Miller Norris. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dewey H. Mangum. Mrs. Mangum retired from Unisource was a member of North Haven PFWB Church.
Surviving are daughters and spouse, Carla and Leo Alls of Benson; Cindy Jones of Raleigh; sons and daughters-in-law, Keith and Dale Mangum of Angier; Gregg and Emily Mangum of Wendell; four grandchildren, Lee Ann Jones of Raleigh, Amanda Ashworth and husband, Don of Willow Spring, Kathryn West and Logan of Willow Spring, Hannah Mangum of Wendell; six precious great-grandchildren, Madison, Nicholas and David Ashworth, Alexander and Benjamin West, Ashlyn Jones; sisters and brothers-in-law, Jenny and Bill Holden of Raleigh, Cathy and Mike Eason of Fuquay-Varina, Julia Wood of Fuquay-Varina; brothers and sisters-in-law, Rev. J. D. and Beverly Norris of Virginia Beach, VA, Lewis and Gloria Norris of Raleigh; several nieces and nephews; special friends, John Brown and Laura Laraia.
In lieu of flowers; memorials may be made to the Transitions Life Care, 250 Hospice Circle Raleigh, NC 27607.
The Mangum family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Alan Kritz, Jessica Casselberry and the staff at Rex Hematology Oncology for the loving care they provided during Mrs. Mangum's sickness.
