Spicey Tart Strickland

Benson and Dunn, NC:  Mrs. Spicey Tart Strickland, age 80, went home to be with the Lord, Monday, August 19, 2019 at Wake Medical Center in Raleigh.  Funeral Service will be  3:00 PM, Thursday, August 22, 2019 at Rose and Graham Funeral Chapel in Benson.  Officiating will be Revs. Johnny Haney and Leon Tart.  Burial will follow in Banner Chapel Advent Christian Church Cemetery in Benson.             Mrs. Strickland was born June 4, 1939 in Harnett County to the late William Burnice and Mallie Hodges  Tart. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Wade Strickland and several brothers and sisters.   Mrs. Strickland was a homemaker and member of Jonesboro Baptist Church.             Surviving include her son and daughter-in-law, William S. and Sandra Barefoot; daughter and son-in-law, Cynthia "Cindy" and Donald Norris all of Benson; grandchildren, Martha Keene and husband, Patrick, Dr. Morgan Young and husband, David, Daniel Barefoot, Brandon Barefoot and Landon Norris; great-grandchildren, Kayse, Bradley, Paigeleigh, Sierra and Chesney; sister, Irene T. Penny of Dunn; many nieces and nephews.             The family will receive friends 6:00 PM-8:00 PM, Wednesday, August 21, 2019 at Rose and Graham Funeral Home in Benson and other times at the home of William and Sandra Barefoot, 653 Bear Road, Benson, NC 27504.             Online condolences may be expressed to the family at www.roseandgraham.com
