Steven Spottswood Johnson

Smithfield, NC: Mr. Steven Spottswood Johnson, age 59, passed away on Tuesday, October 26, 2021 at his residence. Graveside Services will be held 11:00AM Tuesday, November 2, 2021 at Wilson's Mills Christian Church Cemetery in Wilson's Mills. Officiating will be family and friends.

Mr. Johnson was born on March 12, 1962 in Pitt County to the late Spottswood and Phereba Uzzle Johnson. He was a US Air Force Veteran, and took pride in his work as a painter for many years. His love for nature lead him to become an Eagle Scout, which fostered a lifetime of acquiring knowledge of being a great outdoorsman. Steve was passionate about archeology, and was an avid collector of Native American artifacts; he enjoyed learning about other cultures. Steve loved music, culinary arts, a good laugh, and engaging in deep conversations with friends. He was loved and will be missed by many.

Surviving are his aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends.

The family will receive friends following the graveside service.
