Teresa Faye Stanley Messer

Four Oaks, NC: Mrs. Teresa Faye Stanley Messer, age 65, of Wilkins-O’Neal Road, passed away on Tuesday, July 23, 2024 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. Funeral Services will be held-2:00 PM Friday, July 26, 2024 at the Unity Pentecostal Church in Benson. Officiating will be Rev. Dennis Smith. Burial will follow in Benson City Cemetery in Benson. 

Mrs. Messer was born on June 2, 1959 in Johnston County to the late, Willie Robert and Ruby Ellen Parker Stanley. She was preceded in death by her husband of 27 years, James “Jimmy” Raeford Norris, Sr.; sisters, Brenda Wood, and Sandra Dudley; and her brother, Ronnie Ray Stanley. Mrs. Messer retired from Johnston County Public Schools as a bus driver. She enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family and friends. Mrs. Messer enjoyed fishing, her cats, and going to the sale. Mrs. Messer loved to sing and never met a stranger. She was a devoted woman of faith and always willing to share her testimony. 

Survivors include her husband of 6 years, Roy Messer; children, Alan Williams and wife, Jo Anne of Clayton, Jim Norris and wife, Ashley of Salemburg, Marcy Norris of Dunn, Anthony Norris and wife, Leah of Zebulon; grandchildren, Allison Williams, Brionna Norris, Destiny Norris, Caroline Creech, Connor Ensign, Cason Ensign, Caleb Norris, Kyra Autry, Jamar Autry and Haddie Gray Norris; great-grandchildren, Keenan Williams and Joshua Imbriale; sister, Sylvia Denning Johnson of Benson; brother, Willie Stanley, Jr. of Four Oaks; several nieces and nephews, that she loved like her own children. 

The family will receive friends from 1:00PM to 1:45PM Friday, July 26, 2024 at Unity Pentecostal Church in Benson prior to the service and other times at the home.
