Vergie Taylor

Coats, NC:  Mrs. Vergie Stevens Taylor, age 92, of Coats died Sunday, January 6, 2013, at Cornerstone Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Dunn.  Funeral service will be 11:00AM Wednesday, January 9, 2013, at Coats Baptist Church. Rev. Jesse Mooney and Rev. Ronnie Byrd will officiate.  Burial will follow in Williams Family Cemetery. Mrs. Taylor was born November 13, 1920 in Harnett County to the late Otha A. and Flonnie M. Stewart Stevens.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, Alex Taylor; son, Robert Taylor; sister, Maude S. Williams; and brother, Delma Stevens.  Mrs. Taylor was a homemaker and a member of Coats Baptist Church. Surviving include daughters & sons-in-law, Rumel Bradt of Sunset Beach, Hazel & Ethridge Stephenson of Coats, and Deborah & Alfred Elder of Willow Spring; grandchildren, Joe Denning, Princess Carroll, Douglas Sorrell, Bradley Sorrell, Shelley Giles, Barbara Bedard, and Brandi Maynard; brothers, Earl Stevens and Carlie Stevens, both of Coats; and 13 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Coats from 6:00PM to 8:00PM Tuesday, January 8, 2013, and other times at the home of Russell & Princess Carroll, 180 Skeet Range Road, Coats, NC.
