Four Oaks: Mrs. Vida Ellen McLamb, age 82, of 166 Hannah Creek Road died Monday at Liberty Commons Nursing and Rehab Center in Benson. Funeral Service will be 2:00 PM Thursday at Banner Chapel Advent Christian Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Jason Hudson will officiate.
Mrs. McLamb was born December 4, 1933 in Johnston County to the late Willie B. and Susie Ellen Young McLamb. She was preceded in death by her son, Randy McLamb, brother, Ira D. McLamb and step-father, Wiley Nathan McLamb. Mrs. McLamb was a retired farmer and homemaker. She was a member of Banner Chapel Advent Christian Church where she served as a Sunday School teacher for many years.
Surviving include her husband of 63 years, Sherrill McLamb; daughter and son-in-law, Ellen and Marshall Lee of Benson; granddaughter, Shelly Johnson and husband, Trey of Four Oaks; great-grandchildren, Kaylee and Landon Johnson, sisters, Elma Wood of Benson and Linda Hayes of Erwin; brother, J.C. McLamb of Benson; many nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Liberty Commons Nursing and Rehab Center for their loving care given to Mrs. McLamb and especially to her loving roommate Frances Langdon.
The family will receive friends 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM Wednesday at Rose and Graham Funeral Home in Benson and other times at the home of Marshall and Ellen Lee, 7033 NC HWY 50 S. Benson, NC 27504.
