Virginia "Jane" Barefoot Pleasant

Fuquay-Varina, NC: Mrs. Virginia “Jane” Barefoot Pleasant, age 81, of Fox Knoll Drive passed away on Sunday, December 29, 2024 at UNC Rex Healthcare of Holly Springs. A Celebration of Life Service will be held-11:00 AM Friday, January 3, 2025 at Rose and Graham Funeral Chapel in Coats. Officiating will be Pastor Eddie White. 

Mrs. Pleasant was born on June 20, 1943 in Sampson County to the late Dewey Barefoot. Along with her father, she was preceded in death by her foster parents, Ruby and Nelson Stewart; brother, Denny Barefoot; and sister, Annie B. Lewis. Mrs. Pleasant was a hard-working woman who retired from Exide Battery Plant but was also a farmer’s wife who loved God, her family, and the beach. She would do anything for anyone in need. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, and friend. 

Surviving is her husband of 56 years, Delean “Snook” Pleasant; sons, Marty Pleasant and wife, Tammy and Charles Pleasant and wife, Jennifer; grandchildren, Benjamin Whitley and wife, Hannah, April Joyner and fiancé, T.J. Stumpf, Hunter Pleasant, Blake Joyner, Codi Joyner, and Haylee Pleasant; 4 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. 

The Family will receive friends immediately following the memorial service at Rose and Graham Funeral Home in Coats. 

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Jude’s Childrens Research Hospital at 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
