Wanda Lynn McLeod

Mrs. Wanda Lynn McLeod, age 70, passed away Monday, April 17, 2023 surrounded by her loving family. Funeral Services will be 3:00PM-Thursday, April 20, 2023 at Rose and Graham Funeral Chapel in Coats.  Rev. Danny Helms will officiate. Burial will follow in the Coats City Cemetery in Coats.

Wanda was born February 1, 1953 to the late Flynn and Dorothy Lee of Erwin.  She attended Erwin High School and soon married her one true love Ronald Keith McLeod and settled in Coats. Keith and Wanda lived together for many years and raised two girls, Stephanie and Angie.  

Wanda was a dedicated worker and gave many hours of her time to farming, the cafeteria at Campbell University, and Morganite Inc. Her goal was to serve her family and to make sure her girls never did without anything. Wanda’s home was always open to family and friends of those who came to visit.  She always loved for you to visit, eat, and take something home for you to enjoy.  She had a love for baking, gardening, and keeping a tidy home. 

Wanda was a long-time member of Erwin Chapel Pentecostal Freewill Baptist Church, and served on the Ladies’ Auxiliary for many years. Wanda’s mission was to serve and do for others, and she never asked for anything in return.  Wanda welcomed and comforted all she met with open arms, a smile, and a resounding I love you. 

Wanda had one brother and two sisters preceded in death: Barbara Horne, Junior Lee, and Debbie Gillespie.  She is survived by one sister, Doris McLamb of Coats.  Wanda also had a great love for her close family Charles and Teresa McLeod of Coats and Tim and Alanda McLeod of Coats. She also had many special nieces and nephews that she loved dearly. Wanda’s dearest friend was her fur baby Rudy McLeod.

Wanda is survived by her husband, Keith McLeod of Coats, daughters, Stephanie Carpenter and husband Sean of Coats, and Angie Barbour and husband Ryan of Benson. 

Wanda was a grandma to three grandchildren, Abbey Reaves and Johnny of Coats, Gracie Lynn Barbour, and Sadie June Barbour both of Benson. 

The family will receive friends from 1:45PM-2:45PM, Thursday, April 20, 2023 at Rose and Graham Funeral Home in Coats, and other times at the home of Stephanie Carpenter.
