Four Oaks: Mr. Willie Edward Langdon, age 75, of 1551 King Mill Road, died Wednesday at his residence in Four Oaks. Funeral Service will be 11:00 AM Saturday at Oliver's Grove Baptist Church in Four Oaks, NC. Officiating will be the Rev. Steve Morris. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mr. Langdon was born March 12, 1941 in Johnston County to the late Willie Horace and Annie Ophelia L. Langdon. He was also preceded in death by a great nephew, William Allan Newton, II. He was a farmer, Vietnam Veteran and a member of both the American Legion Post 346 in Four Oaks and VVA 990 Chapter. Mr. Langdon was also a member and a deacon of Oliver's Grove Baptist Church. He coached Babe Ruth baseball for the Four Oaks Civitan and for Johnston County for many years.
Mr. Langdon is survived by his wife of fifty-two years, Judy West Langdon; daughter and son-in-law, Lisa L. and Michael Burgess of Four Oaks; grandchildren, Michaela Burgess and Langdon Burgess; sisters, Janice Privette of Clayton, Katherine Moore of Four Oaks, Judy Johnson of Florence, SC, and Frances Benson of Four Oaks; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Friday 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM at Oliver's Grove Baptist Church, 8715 US Hwy 301 South, Four Oaks and other times at the home.
